1973 California Jam - Deep Purple sticks it to ABC...

Here's the legend: ABC televised the 1973 California Jam which Emerson Lake and Palmer headlined(!) right after Purple (poor bastards). Supposedly, Purple specifically stated in the contract that they were to perform at or after sundown (presumably for the full effect of their light show). Well unlike most rock festivals, this one was ahead of schedule and Purple were asked to go on before sundown and Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore (known even then to be "temperamental") locked himself in his dressing room and refused to come out. The suits at ABC supposedly threatened to call the cops and have Blackmore arrested and Blackmore finally relented and went onstage but at the end of their set Blackmore took out his anger on an ABC camera and almost blew the whole damn stage up! He impulsively told his roadie to pour some gas into one of his amp heads and light it which he did with the results you see here! Supposedly ABC was livid and had the cops ready to arrest him after the show but the group was already arranged to leave the gig by helicopter, which they did and and made their way back to the hotel and then very quickly flew back overseas via regular airline thus avoiding the strong arm of the law!

Whew!...... Long story but part of Rock n Roll folklore! enjoy!

The reclusive creature has been recently rumored by close friends as "troubled" . A source close to ThoughtCrime who we will call "The Barfly" received an email from the mysterious Man-Beast last week which partially read : " I need to get away from all this bullshit man.. I had heard about Brownsville, Texas from a buddy and I made it down there on an 18 wheeler hidden amongst the cargo but they have some elections going on and the shit is just too negative for my taste ...so I hooked up with my government connection and got a lift to Mars....just to reflect and get away from it all...I can only stay for a week and am thinking of relocating to Finland but some buds have told me San Marcos is the place to be so we'll see..."

Man, Oprah Winfrey isn't having much luck with doctors lately, is she? First she had a plastic surgeon named Dr. Jan Adams guest on her show--the same scandal-ridden scalpel-man who later adminstered that fateful, allegedly fatal operation on Kanye West's mother, Donda. (This week's L.A. Coroner's report on Donda was inconclusive, by the way.) And now Oprah's longtime crony Dr. Phil McGraw is getting flak over his own involvement in an almost equally tragic hospital case, that of Britney Spears.

It all started innocently enough, when Spears family matriarch Lynne invited the tough-talking celebrity shrink to visit Britney at Cedars-Sinai last weekend, where the troubled pop star was being sequestered for observation after a bizarre child-custody standoff with police on January 3. Now, Mama Spears could have phoned up any professional in L.A.'s admittedly saturated mental-health market, but of course she just had to choose the one she'd seen on the tee-vee, the one famous for colorful colloquialisms like "you don't need tight-fitting pants to laminate your shirt" and "you don't need a porcupine to tickle a gypsy." (Okay, okay we admit we got those sayings from a funny time-wasting site called the "Dr. Phil Random Quote Generator" and that Dr. Phil never actually uttered those specific words...but you get our point.)

"The family basically extended an invitation of trust for him to come in as a resource to support them, not to go out and make public statements," an irate Lou said Wednesday on The Today Show. "Any statement publicly that he made, because he was brought in under this cloak of trust, [is] just inappropriate...he was not invited to make this part of a public display or part of the media."

Dr. Phil has since cancelled his (seemingly self-serving) plan to shoot a Britney-themed episode of his talk show, though he insists that the episode was originally her family's idea--a claim substantiated by Britney's own manager, Sam Lufti. In the doc's typical outspoken manner, Dr. Phil defended his controversial actions by declaring on Entertainment Tonight, "Somebody needs to step up and get this young woman into some quality care--and I do not apologize one whit, not one second, for trying to make that happen." Britney, you did it again.........I wish she hadn't shaved her head....but she apparently might have some "issues" going on....Oh How I long for the days when she was dancing around in her schoolgirl outfit! Away from all these problems.....personally I think if she did 6 months in rehab she should team up with Hillary or Obama and then we could watch some fireworks....."If there's a new way ..I'll be the first in line" ...Dave Mustaine ;)

Controlling the music volume/song selection in order to hear video clips

I have been asked a couple of times about how visitors cannot hear the audio on the video clips properly because of the music playing on my main page player....just click on the "pause" button on the media player (usually: '' ) you can also click on the forward and back arrows to cycle through the playlist of tunes.... you don't have to wait for it to play all the way through...just give it a few seconds to load the tune up.

I try to steer away from heavy /political themes but there has been a lot of "controversy" over so called 8-liner arcades in Brownsville and here is my 4 cents on the issue.

Please voice your 4 cents or more....Churches , as far as i know are allowed to have so called " bingo nights" and there is a huge Bingo parlor in Brownsville who have never been raided, never had SWAT teams poised outside their premises, never had police dogs barking at their door , never had minimum wage employees arrested, never had innocent and usually elderly citizens arrested and treated like criminals ...

What is the difference between bingo and "macinitas"? Can someone explain it to me? Because as I readily admit I am very uneducated (in many areas!) but especially these types of bureaucratic machinations.

Christmas time is here! Time for eggnog, colorful lights and mass shootings/suicides! Everyday citizens on TV seem to be puzzled as to why these tragedies are occurring at such an alarming rate during the holidays....it's no puzzle...here is one of many similar articles to consider:

We generally think of the holidays as a joyous, happy period. The period of time between Thanksgiving and New Year's is a time in American culture for much celebration. People come together to eat, sing, share gifts and the camaraderie of each others' presence. But there is an increasing body of knowledge that says that the holidays are a period of time that is, for many, stressful at the least and for others, downright depressing. Consider for a moment the following information:

1. The Thanksgiving to New Year's holiday season occurs during the time of year when there are the fewest number of hours of daylight. Research has shown that ten percent of our population is significantly affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Regardless of other factors related to the holidays, sufferers of true Seasonal Affective Disorder may experience chronic fatigue, difficulty in sleeping, irritability, and feelings of sadness.

2. For most individuals, all of the activities of the holidays must be piled on top of all of their other responsibilities that, for most people, include both work and family. The 168 hours that there are in every week cannot be expanded. Consequently, many individuals feel a significant time crunch.

3. Only about 25% of all individuals are living within what would be considered a traditional family at the present time. Death, separation, divorce, remarriage, and job-related separations cause many individuals to feel a dissonance with the traditional holiday-related values.

4. The majority of Americans spend somewhere between 95% and 100% of each paycheck. Again, the period of time between Thanksgiving and New Year's brings about special costs that often increase debt. The research in couples counseling indicates that financial stresses and pressures create significant and long-lasting effects on marriages.

So instead of wondering why these horrible things happen let's all be careful and watch our backs at the mall!

Man Who Resembles All Voodoo Dolls Reports Constant Pain

SIDLEIGH, Mass. -- Glen Ordneau's striking resemblance to almost all voodoo dolls has brought him decades of agony--a condition only recently addressed by a skeptical medical community.

"We are combating some of the external conditions with moisturizing conditioner for his strawlike hair and body butter for his burlap-like skin," said Dr. Stilton Warnes, a cosmetic surgeon at Sidleigh Hospital. "But we'll have to resort to surgery and skin grafts to correct his pillowy limbs, stubby neck, and the birthmarks over his heart, liver, and other major curse zones."

A childhood accident in which Mr. Ordneau fell mouthfirst onto a sewer grate has also left his lips with a doll-like, stitched appearance.

Ordneau's black, button-round eyes teared-up as he recalled the discovery of his illness as a youth. "I was traveling with my parents, who bought me a voodoo doll in a New Orleans gift shop," he said. "On our flight back from Louisiana, a pen broke in my carry-on and I turned royal blue for a week. That was the first clue."

Despite Mr. Ordneau's declining health, doctors have postponed his surgery until further tests can be conducted. "Well, he looks like a giant voodoo doll," Dr. Warnes observed. "We're a little hesitant to start sticking needles in him."

"Another unwitting "Borat" cast member files lawsuit"

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The creators of the hit film "Borat" were sued again on Tuesday, this time by a driving instructor seen in the comedy admonishing the fake Kazakh reporter for yelling insults at other drivers.

Michael Psenicska was duped into participating in the film after it was described to him as a "documentary about the integration of foreign people into the American way of life," he said in a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court.

The suit named British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, who plays the title role, One America Productions and the film's distributor, 20th Century Fox, a unit of News Corp. It also named Todd Lewis, a representative of One America who is listed in other lawsuits as Todd Lewis Schulman.

Psenicska said he was paid $500 in cash to give Borat a driving lesson. He described the experience as "surreal," saying Cohen drove erratically down residential streets, drank alcohol and yelled to a female pedestrian he would pay her $10 for "sexy time."

The lawsuit seeks $400,000 in actual damages and additional punitive damages for misleading Psenicska and for emotional harm he continues to suffer. Psenicska said if he had known the true nature of the film, he never would have participated.

The comedy has grossed $270 million at the box office, plus more than $60 million in DVD sales, the lawsuit said.

Fox said the lawsuit was without merit, calling Psenicska a willing participant who was paid to be in the movie.

"The fact is that Mike Psenicska gave the producers his consent," the studio said in a statement. "He signed a release and we have an agreement. Now, 2 1/2 years after giving his consent, and more than one year after the movie was released, Mr. Psenicska has decided to file a lawsuit, citing the financial success of the film, in spite of our agreement."

"Borat" has been sued at least four times already.

In June, a man seen in the film running away from Borat down the streets of New York City sued Fox in federal court in Manhattan.

In February, a judge threw out a lawsuit brought in Los Angeles Superior Court by two college fraternity members shown guzzling alcohol and making racist remarks. They claimed the scenes tarnished their reputations.

Last year, two residents of a Romanian village sued Fox for $30 million, claiming the film wrongly depicted them as rapists, abortionists, prostitutes and thieves. Scenes depicting Borat in Kazakhstan were filmed in Romania.

A South Carolina man also sued over a deleted scene. (END)

IMHO, Fuck you if you can't take a joke especially when it is obviously a ploy to leech off a cash cow..these people suing Cohen happily signed releases and took cash but when they saw the box office registers light up they are now victims of the evil Cohen ....they would probably happily sing along to "Throw the Jew Down the Well" (from the Borat movie)!

Take a look at another side of MADD and the whole "DWI" explosion...And to think we were just talking about the Spice Girls....ahh Ginger....!

Daredevil Evel Knievel died Friday at the age of 69. He had been in failing health for years including diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis.
I remember buying Evel Knievel trading cards when I was in 1st grade...balls of steel....R.I.P.

For any Knievel fans who have not seen the comedy "Hot Rod" I highly recommend it even to non fans for that matter..it pays loving and hilarious tribute to the kind of guys that are driven to do these crazy stunts...Like Rod, the title character of "Hot Rod" states while barely clinging to consciousness : " Life is pain..and you have to scrape every bit of joy you can out of it any chance you get..."

IMHO ,I think this is a surprisingly classless move by Schula The Pats are whoopin on everybody because they are better than everyone else. They could film an entire game of the entire opposing team showering (dont get any ideas you kinky bastards!) and it would not change the fact they are playing better on the field. Quiet Riot Vocalist Kevin DuBrow, 52, was found dead at his Vegas home Sunday night ; cause of death unknown at this time pending autopsy/toxicology. I had the privilege of meeting and interviewing Kevin back in 1995 when they were in town promoting the "Down To The Bone" album . He was very polite, intelligent and articulate. He had a reputation as an asshole but I can say he was not one with me. I still have the pictures I took with the band backstage after the show on my wall and they all autographed my copy of "Metal Health" and posed for pix very graciously. I listened to "Thunderbird" last night after hearing about his death and toasted to Kevin...Fly away to your new home Brother...
